Formed 1.40 in Braunschweig-Waggum as Segelflugschule der Luftwaffe, with 8 Ju 52 and 20 DFS.230. In 9.40 moved to Neuhausen, and was renamed Fliegerschule der Luftwaffe (S) 1.

In 4.42 renamed Ergänzungsgruppe (S) 1 with:
