Formed 26.8.39 in Würzburg from parts of I./Flak-Regiment 19 with 5 Batterien (1. - 3. schwere. 4. leichte(?), 5. scheinwerfer). Known as Reserve-Flak-Abt. 191 until 7.42.
In 4.43 reorganised as a schwere Abteilung:
3./gem.191 became 4./257, and was reformed 4.43 from 1./256
4./gem.191 became 2./507, and was reformed 4.43 from 3./647
5./gem.191 became 4./340In 5.44 reorganised as a gemischte Abteilung with 2 new leichte Batterien:
Probably redesignated I./Flak-Regiment 42 (mot.) in 9.44, while 6./gem.191 was disbanded.
