schwere Flak-Abteilung 616 (o)

Formed 7.40 in Luftgau XI with 1. - 5. Batterien (until 7.42 known as Res.Flak-Abt. 616).

Reorganised as a schwere Abteilung in 1942:

4./Res.616 became 3./850, and was reformed from 2./464
5./Res.616 became 4./850

5. - 8./s.616 was formed in 1943 (5. and 6. RAD).

In late 1944 9. and 10./s.616 was formed (9. from 3./513, 10. from 3./666 [RAD]); 8./s.616 became 1./613 [RAD 1./194], and was reformed from 1./513.

Service:

* According to the Feldpostübersicht there was at this time a 2nd 8./s.616 (from 2./432) and a 2nd 9./s.616 (from 2./307) operating in Luftgau XIV, but this is probably an error.
